The best engineers in the world are retiring one after another. We have to fill the gap with new ones. The solution is an intern programme that allows young adults to try a top job at a great Swedish company!
Tekniksprånget (Technology Leap) is a four-month-long intern programme for upper secondary school graduates, who are not yet 21 years old, with a degree in the Natural Sciences programme. For four months, the interns can try out a job they may not have realised they wish to have in the future. The companies, on the other hand, have the possibility to get to know the future talents that will be heavily sought after on the labour market in a couple of years. In other words, it’s a win-win situation. Tekniksprånget is operated by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) on assignment by the Swedish government to raise interest in a career in engineering. The companies who have joined the project by now include Volvo, Ericsson, Handelsbanken, IBM, NCC, SVT, and Vattenfall.
An IVA brochure addressed to companies such as Volvo, IBM, Sandvik, Ramirent, SVT, Vattenfall, NCC, Ericsson, and others. And one for the students with a degree in the NV (Natural Sciences) or T (Technical) programme from upper secondary school.
Tekniksprånget is an intern-program for young adults, aged 19-20, with a degree from the Nature science-program. The interns get the chance to “try a top job” as engineers for 4 months at companies such as Volvo, SVT, IBM, Vattenfall and Ericsson. The project was initiated by the Swedish government to raise interest among the young for a career as an engineer.
