Linköping University has obtained a new graphic profile! An extensive upgrade that will be launched in conjunction with the 40th anniversary. The new profile is based on branding that started in Spring 2013.
The competition for students and employees is intensifying, both nationally and internationally. For Linköping University, which recruits 70 percent of its students outside of Östergötland, the need for a strong brand, visual rigour and clarity will increase. The qualities of the University are reflected in the simple and stylised form of its new logo; it is modernist, playful, robust and friendly. The geometric forms are reminiscent of pedagogical tools, such as building blocks and charts. The logo and typography provide the graphic profile with a strong identity-bearing base to stand on, allowing a diversified selection of colours. Instead of an identity colour, there are three scales to work with. The seal who has been the University’s logo since its inception in 1975 is still there, but in the form of a grand symbol to be used only on ceremonial occasions. Slightly improved and highlighted in a way that increases its value giving it a festive shine to the particular context.
