Kungliga Biblioteket

Kb.se – website for The Royal Library

The Royal Library's website is the entrance to Sweden's finest, deepest, and broadest archive. On kb.se, we lift the content - from a hundred meters underground. Say hello to kb.se!

Futurniture developed a new concept, UX, and design where first-time visitors were in focus. Through educational functions and modules, we lower the threshold and make it possible for more people to access KB's treasures. Digitized material is made accessible and attractive in themed collections, which provide insight into what can be discovered in the fantastic collections.

The project was so successful that we followed up by redesigning the KB's government website. This is aimed at information specialists who use the KB in their daily work. By working closely with both the KB and the target group, we developed new design and technology that make everyday life easier for everyone involved in collecting and preserving information. The website was nominated for the Swedish Design Prize and has been reviewed by Beckmans students. Welcome to explore almost everything that has ever been published in Sweden since 1483.
